Peek behind the veil of the present into the future by with the “Book of Changes”
When injury or illness strikes, there are decisions to be made. Will this medication stave off my symptoms long-term? Should I choose surgery or alternative methods of treatment? Will my illness resolve before travel, will my injury keep improving if I begin to work out again? Are my symptoms straightforward, or is there a hidden lifestyle or familial cause that is preventing true healing? Should we intervene, or let this disease run its course naturally?
“Those who do not know the Yi Jing are unfit to be called imperial physicians” - Sun Simiao, Tang Dynasty Physician, Chinese Medicine & Daoist Doctor, China’s “King of Medicine”
Using the oldest book in the world as our guide, we create a connection with higher powers to ask for help related to ours or others’ healing. Help to find hidden causes and to find a cure or relief from symptoms. In existence and use long before Daoism, Confucianism or Buddhism were established, the Yi Jing has been used as a divinatory tool in China for at least 3,000 years. Based around the ancient binary mathematics of the Shang Dynasty’s shaman-kings, the 8 trigrams that this book is based around are attributed to the first mythical emperor of china, Fu Xi, and was used so much by Confucius (Kong Zi) later in his life that his copy of the Yi Jing was said to have been falling apart. A full copy of the Yi has been found in the Mawangdui burial site dating back to 200 BC, and it even survived the burning of the books and burying of scholars by Qin Shi Huang.
“It’s the only thing that’s amazingly true, period” - Bob Dylan, avid fan and user of the Yi Jing
Our method of using the Yi Jing, taught by Li Shifu, abbott of Five Immortals Temple located on White Horse Peak in the Wudang Mountains of China and his students, Lindsey Wei & Johan Hausen, takes the hexagrams of the book as secondary to the interactions of the Five Phases, 10 Heavenly Stems and 12 Earthly Branches within the Six Lines of each Hexagram.

“I found this [divination] profoundly therapeutic.”
“Instead of being a final answer, this reading gave me more questions. But if we can see that part of the illness is caused by [toxic relationship with family member], we can begin to look at how to dig it up by the root.”
“I am happy to have confidence rejoining [the martial arts] gym [where I was injured].”
